Al Faisaly clinched the 2016/17 Al Manseer Jordanian Pro League title following their 4-0 win against Sahab on Saturday, May 6, taking advantage of Al Jazeera’s goalless draw against Al Ahli which secured the top spot and championship 2 points ahead of Al Jazeera.

Both Al Faisaly and Al Jazeera entered the last round of the domestic league with 43 points, and if the two teams recorded the same result on the last match day (regardless of goal difference), the two teams would’ve played a title deciding match according to Al Manaseer Jordanian Pro League rules and guidelines.

Al Faisaly’s win put them on top of the standings with 46 points, while Al Jazeera finished as runner-ups with 44 points.

Akram Al Zway (55, 75), Lucas (53), and Yousef Al Naber (90+1) scored Al Faisal’s four goals in the match that was held at the Amman International Stadium, and saw them being crowned as Champions for the 33rd time in their history.

In the relegation zone, That Ras managed to stay in the top flight after their 2-0 against Al Sareeh, while Al Buqaa secured their stay with a 3-1 win against Shabab Al Ordon. Both That Ras and Al Buqaa reached their 19th points. While Al Sareeh and Sahab were both relegated to the first division following their defeats, Al Sareeh with 18 points in 11th, and Sahab with 14 at the bottom.
