Kuwait City: Al Faisaly took over leadership of Group C in the AFC Cup as Abdelhadi Al Maharmeh’s second-half goal sealed a 1-0 victory at Al Nasr.
Having already seen off the Kuwait side 2-1 in Jordan last time out, Al Faisaly were looking to complete the double at Sabah Al Salem Stadium.
Following a goalless opening 45 minutes, Al Maharmeh landed the decisive blow on the hour mark to collect the points for the visitors.
With Al Jaish beating previous group leaders Duhok 1-0 in Iraq, the triumph means Al Faisaly now hold a two-point lead over their two rivals.
Al Nasr, meanwhile, prop up the standings as they continue to search for their first point in this season’s competition.
