Jordan suffered a 3-2 defeat to Palestine on Friday at group E in the match that was held at the Dura Stadium, Palestine, during the second round of the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers.
The National Team took a two-goal lead within the opening 31 minutes courtesy of strikes from Yazan Al Arab and Mohammad Alrazem. However, Palestine responded with a goal seven minutes before the break with Hazem Abuhammad on target from a free-kick.
Mahmoud Yousef equalized for the hosts in the 66th minute, then Bahaa Wridat scored the winner for Palestine in the 76th minute.
Jordan are now in third place with 3 points after the end of the second round, while Tajikistan tops the group with 4 points ahead of Palestine on goal difference, following their 3-1 victory against Bangladesh who remain pointless at the bottom of the group standings.
In the group’s final round of games on Sunday, Jordan will take on Tajikistan, while Palestine will face Bangladesh.
