Jordan Women’s National Team heads to Turkey to participate at the 2018 Alanya Women’s Cup, which will be hosted in the city of Antalya, from 26 February – 7 March.
The tournament in Turkey will be Jordan’s final preparation for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which Jordan hosts next April, and which will decide the five Asian nations that will qualify to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Jordan will face Poland on February 28, Mexico on March 2, and Latvia on March 4 at group A, while meets another team from the the two other groups in the tournament’s places deciding match on March 6.
The other countries participating at the tournament were drawn into the other two groups, with France B, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, and Kosovo in group B, and Ukraine, Romania, Northern Ireland, and Kosovo B in group C.
Head coach Michael Dickey announced a 22-player squad for the Alanya Cup, with minor changes from the recent squad that took part at the Spain training camp last week. The squad features 16 year-old youngster Tala Barghouthi, who has been training with the seniors in the past few months.
