Jordan Women’s National Team recorded a 5-0 victory over Afghanistan, in a friendly match that was held on Friday, February 2, at the Petra Stadium, Amman.

The two teams meet again for another match-up on Monday, February 5, at the same Stadium (kickoff: 19:00 Jordan Local Time).

Shahnaz Jibreen opened the scoring for Jordan in the 6th minute, while Hannah Al Kousheh doubled the lead in the 18th, and Maysa Jbarah made it 3-0 five minutes before the break.

Mai Sweilem scored the 4th in the 73rd minute, while youngster Tala Al Barghouthy scored her first International goal in her first appearance with the WNT, in the 90+1 minute.

Head Coach Michael Dickey praised the team for an entertaining performance, while hailed the Afghani goalkeeper for her remarkable saves. Dickey said: “It was an exciting game to watch! I was happy with our performance, and Afghanistan have a really good goalkeeper.”

“The highlight was that Tala scored a goal on her first appearance with the team, she is definitely a great talent with plenty of potential, she is a future star for Jordan.” he concluded.

Jordan continues to prepare for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup before heading to Spain from 12-23 February.
