Jordan Women’s National Team recorded a 4-2 win over Southeastern Fire in a friendly encounter that was held at the Southeastern University soccer training field, in Jordan’s second match at the USA training camp which is taking place at Orlando, Florida, in preparation for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

The home team took the lead in the 19th minute of the game. However, the Jordanian ladies responded with an equalizer from captain Stephanie Al Naber in the 29th minute, after successfully converting from the penalty spot. Maysa Jbarah gave the lead to Jordan in the 45+1 minute to send the team 2-1 ahead at halftime.

Hannah Kousheh extended Jordan’s lead in the 74th minute after rounding the keeper and sending the ball into the back of the net. Maysa Jbarah returned to sign on a brace and score Jordan’s fourth goal in the 80th minute, while the hosts managed to grab one goal back as the match came to a wrap with a 4-2 win for Jordan.

Southeastern Fire Head Coach Randy Belli considered the match as a great opportunity for his team’s pre-season preparations, he was also full of praise of Jordan’s level. Belli said:

“Jordan is a fantastic team! We’re delighted that we had the opportunity to play against them, its a great thing for us and for our university. They exposed us in some areas that we need to work on, and hopefully we made them better as well. It was a fantastic game for us to see the things we need to work on, and its going to play a good part for our development for the season”

He added: “I think Jordan has a promising future, coach Dickey has done a tremendous job preparing them and raising their level. I’ve followed international soccer for a while, and I think this is the best group that I saw come out of Jordan.”

“I’m excited to see what they’re going to do in the Asian Cup and I think that they’re going surprise so many teams and I wish them the best of luck in their journey for World Cup qualification.” Belli concluded.
